We test all ingredients and components of our products—including the battery and electronics. Firstly, we test how glo™ is used and we check how our consumers use our tobacco product, as well as the effects of the product on the human body. Chemical studies tell us everything about the components of the aerosol produced from the tobacco heating product. We found that aerosol produced 90% fewer toxicants* than the smoke from traditional cigarettes. We have also investigated the effects of the aerosol on human cells using biological tests. The cells serve as models for tissues and organs in the body. In these tests, cells exposed to the aerosol showed fewer to no reactions relevant to the development of disease—unlike cells that were exposed to the smoke of tobacco cigarettes.
It is important to know that when using glo™ tobacco heating device, significantly lower temperatures are used for the tobacco compared to smoking cigarettes. Such alternative products do not burn tobacco and rely on a heating system where the maximum temperature that is reached is 270 degrees Celsius. A rechargeable lithium-ion battery supplies the device’s heating chamber with an electric current that allows for the temperature to be kept stable and high enough for the quality from the tobacco stick to be kept in the best possible way.
Smokeless tobacco products potentially contain fewer toxins and are therefore classified as less risky. In recent years, independent studies and reports, such as Public Heath England, US Food and Drug Administration, French Academy of Medicine and many more, have been produced and dedicated their research to this topic.
