NICOTINE AND TOBACCO STICKS neo™

glo™ enables an authentic, completely smokeless experience with tobacco and nicotine. Find out more about what nicotine is as an ingredient in our neo™ sticks here.

WHAT IS NICOTINE?

Nicotine is a natural substance found mainly in the tobacco plant. The substance is produced in the roots, but high concentrations of this substance are found in the leaves of the plant. An interesting fact is that you can also find nicotine, in very small quantities, in potatoes and tomatoes. Nicotine is one of the essential ingredients found in traditional cigarettes, tobacco heating products and e-cigarettes.

NICOTINE IN TOBACCO

Nicotine is naturally found in tobacco but can also be produced synthetically (which is the case with e-liquids used in e-cigarettes). Our neo™ sticks contain nicotine from the tobacco plant; after harvesting, the tobacco leaves are dried slowly and matured for a certain period of time. They are then fermented, crushed and processed into small strands that fit inside the tobacco stick (neo™ sticks).

HOW DOES NICOTINE WORK?

By inhaling the aerosol of the glo™ device, nicotine enters the blood via the mucous membranes of the respiratory tracts. This process takes only a few seconds, releasing dopamine as a result. This is why nicotine is an addictive substance, where it increases neurotransmitters and hormones (i.e. dopamine) in our body.

Nevertheless, contrary to popular belief, nicotine is not the main reason cigarettes are harmful. Instead, it is the toxic substances after burning the tobacco inside cigarettes that can result in diseases associated with smoking. This is where glo™ comes in as a nicotine-containing but smoke-free alternative as it heats the tobacco rather than burn it. Heating instead of burning the tobacco results in about 90% fewer toxicants* compared to traditional cigarettes.

HOW MUCH NICOTINE IN neo™ STICKS?

Our neo™ sticks have different nicotine levels. The nicotine effect of neo™ sticks is not completely comparable to that of traditional cigarettes, as they are heated instead of burned. The Swiss Tobacco Product Ordinance stipulates that the nicotine content in cigarettes cannot exceed 1.0mg per cigarette. The same applies to the aerosol created from tobacco heating products. How light or strong the nicotine is, is sometimes felt depending on the usage behavior, the type and different modes (i.e. Standard VS Boost mode) of device.
